Lord of the Lakes

Our team from Wisconsin arrived safe and sound last night after a long 22 hours of driving! It’s quite a temperature difference between Wisconsin and Louisiana, but they are set and ready to serve! Welcome!

Today our team went to both the traditional and contemporary service at our host church. We had the pleasure to meet the local congregants and they even made us lunch! 

After prepping for our ministry we had some spare time to see some of the local area we are serving in. We went and saw the Historic Sallier Oak tree that is 400 years old and we drove down a nature trail to see some gators! 

Today is a busy day! We’re renovating houses, clearing trees, and working on a soon-to-be shower house!

You know the trip is a success if this is what lunch break looks like!

Today we were split up into teams and sent to two houses each to do house work for people in the community! It was a hot, but very productive day!

Today we’re taking orders from Mr. Larry and organizing and cleaning various rooms in the church! 

Just finished repainting the basketball court behind the church!

After three days of hard work, this team has earned a recreation day! We went over the border into Texas for a swamp tour where we got to see alligators and other wildlife! 

Our team packed up this morning and headed back to Wisconsin! We had an incredible week serving alongside the local church in Lake Charles. We grew in our relationship with God over the week and with each other, and we’re sad to say goodbye to our new friends!
