First Baptist Church Weatherford

Meet Sammy, Erick and Katherin. They are going to be your staff this week.

Thank you for your prayers over our travelers, we made it to Costa Rica!!

We are so excited to serve alongside this week with Pastor Oscar and can't wait to see what God has in store for us. 

This morning, we had the opportunity to worship our God in both languages English and Spanish, but as one body in Christ.

During the service, Pastor Oscar introduced the team to the local church and prayed for the week and for all of us. 

We are excited to start our week and to serve the community! 

After the service we had a blast playing soccer with the local church.

It was really fun! 

We had an amazing morning at a nursing home. We played bingo and made bracelets.

This morning our girls planted 162 plants as a natural barrier.

It was hard work but we had so much fun! 

This afternoon we had our first day of food distribution and it was really touching how people are grateful to God even during the hard times.

We had the opportunity to meet some people from the local church and pray over them. They were really welcoming. 

Today, we worked building the fence to close in the whole property of the church. 

Tonight, we had an activity with the women from the local church.

We had the opportunity to introduce ourselves and share something about us. Also, we shared our personal testimonies. It was interesting how God has different ways to prove our faith in Him. 

Also, we spent time praying for each other.

Today was our second day at the nursing home, and we had a really moving morning.

To start,  we danced with them, started a craft, and played BINGO and the winners got a prize and they were really excited!

We are enjoying spending time with the abuelitos!

Part of being a missionary is praying for illness and having faith that God will heal them according to His will.

We know that the Lord has control over every situation in our lives and that all things work together for good of those who love God. 

Sadly, today was our last day at the nursing home, but we enjoyed our time.

We finished the craft that we started yesterday, sang karaoke and played BINGO again.

We loved our time with the elders, and hope to see them again! 

Today, we were painting the walls of the church, and we hope the congregation enjoys the new face of their beautiful house. 

Today was our last day of planting, and we loved doing this.

The team planted more than four hundred plants total, they did an amazing job during these days of work! 

Tonight was our goodbye service.

We were able to hear the highlights of the week from the locals and the team shared theirs and how the community and the church has impacted their lives. 

Tonight the church had a surprise for us. They shared really delicious traditional Costa Rican food and a traditional dance.

We had a blast!!
