Trinity Lutheran Youth

We arrived at Maui’s airport right on time and traveled to the Girl Scout camp where we would be staying. We set up camp and enjoyed a good time of fellowship before heading off to bed.

We met for worship today at the Waipuna Chapel Oski Rice Arena campus. We listen to a message on song 45 everlasting praise. The three points were God is good. God is great thank you for this plate. Amen. What a message!

We drove to an area where you could see some of the damage from the Lahaina fires that took place on August 8, 2023, as well as the area where the police and rescue worker headquarters were. We stopped to take time to pray over the city.

Oski Rice Arena was one of the first responders that helped misplaced people to stay in their facility and provided food and water, etc. for them. We are here helping them catch up with all the stuff that they normally would have done otherwise.

I’d ask rice we were there to help get ready for the big rodeo event that happens once a year at the Oski Rice Arena. We helped move things into a large truck bed and added plants around the premises.

The Council for Native  Hawaiian advancement is a warehouse that stores supplies and HomeGoods for the residence impacted by the fire. Here we are helping sort out clothes and other items that have been donated to the warehouse.

Some of our most memorable time here in Hawaii are the times that we met with people and sharing their life stories.
