New Hope Church

After a long day of travels, with some minor delays, we made it to Van Wert Ohio. We are grateful for the Trinity Friends Church staff who welcomed us to stay while serving the Indian Lake Community. 

We are looking forward to a great week of service and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Ohio.

We count on your prayers for a fruitful and God-honoring week.

We had such a  great time worshiping with our brothers and sisters at Trinity Friends Church this morning. We loved how different it was from our church and rejoiced to know that our Lord is being worshiped and praised in a small town in Ohio. 

The church prayed over us and our mission head. A group from the church is also going on a mission trip to Jackson, so we were commissioned together in prayer. 

We enjoyed some fellowship time after the service. 

Fun dinner! Kylie and Seth hosted us for dinner at their farm house. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the farm life. 

We had a very productive day working on several projects at Rose's house. We removed carpets, unhinged doors, took down shingles, tore down a porch, pulled siding...to name a few. 

Rose is very grateful for the work we are helping her with. We hope that she can return to her rebuilt home soon. 

84° and sunny, but much cooler than Texas. 

Can't beat lunch under the shade of a tree. 

While this seems like a silly project, Rose told us this was the first thing she wanted a Pelican team to help her with. Glad we could bless her this way. She is pleased with our job!

Removing the siding has been a fun project for us since it doesn't require much skill. We can't wait to see what will replace it! 

We knocked down a whole bunch of walls today! 

We felt like Rose needed some encouragement today. We know that after we left her house she was alone and in reality. We can't wait to see the house the Lord has in store for her.

This was a fun bonding project...lots of good talks as we were removing the flooring to make room for new ones. 

Today we had the opportunity to work at Mr. Tom's house through a ministry called Ignite Community Relief. We did a lot of work around the house, especially with the landscaping. We removed a lot of overgrown weeds embedded the areas with rocks. 

Mr. Tom has an upcoming heart surgery and that will hinder him from doing any outdoor labor. He told us we saved him 2 years of work. 

We are so glad we could be such help to him and his wife.

We have a good portion of the porch down. Just a few more boards to go! 

We accomplished way more than expected but there is still quite a bit of work to do before Rosen can get her house repaired. We are glad we could help her out.
