From Denver to San Diego to Ensenada

by Jorge Espinoza | June 9, 2024 1:31 AM

The mission trip started! Our group from Denver Community Church is here in Ensenada. They traveled for half of the day but they still had the best attitude and excitement for what we are doing this week serving with the local church and the community that surrounds it. We are ready to experience what God will do through our group’s service and passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Praying for Ensenada

by Jorge Espinoza | June 9, 2024 1:32 AM

Just as last time, our group from DCC had the opportunity to visit the Ensenada lookout, place where you can see a big chunk of the city. And also just like last time we had a moment to observe, reflect and then pray over the city before our ministry days start tomorrow. May God use every single prayer for His Glory. Amen!

Journaling at The Bay

by Jorge Espinoza | June 10, 2024 12:42 AM

Ministry days started! After some well deserved rest last night, and some very delicious breakfast from the cooks at our host church we went to start the day at the Ensenada bay, it was very foggy and colder than expected but still our students from the group used that time to reflect and journal about everything that they have already experienced in this first few hours serving God in a foreign country. God is good all the time!

Libres para Servir (Free to Serve)

by Jorge Espinoza | June 10, 2024 12:43 AM

Today was our first day at Pastor Manuel Palacios church “Libres para Servir a través del Poder del Espíritu Santo” (Free to Serve trough the Power of the Holy Spirit), for most of our this is their first time meeting Pastor Manuel, so we are very thankful with God because we had the opportunity to visit the church on a Sunday, where we could experience the service and the community.

Pastor Manuel and his wife told us the story of how they were called to start serving The Lord as pastors, and not only that but they also took the time to tell us about the needs that they see in the community and the vision that they have to meet those needs.

To finish the ministry day we went walking around the community with the pastor to invite kids to VBS this week. What a blessing it is to serve Our Lord and Savior.

Some little presents for some really big hearts

by Jorge Espinoza | June 11, 2024 1:20 AM

Today our team went to the local market to get two food baskets to bless people from the community around the church. To our surprise we had the opportunity to bless our cooks with the baskets. Two amazing women with a heart for God and His Work. They were also our cooks last year, so we were very happy to give back a little from what they have given us with their gifts and service. God is good!

VBS starts!

by Jorge Espinoza | June 11, 2024 1:22 AM

Today our team from DCC started working with the VBS, we have been so blessed seeing how the children connect with the students from our group. We think that God is using the seed that we are planting by giving them time, attention, love and most importantly the Word of God.

The Kingdom of God is theirs! May the peace, hope and love of Christ reign in these children hearts forever. Amen.

Serving and Connecting

by Jorge Espinoza | June 12, 2024 12:47 AM

Today our team delivered three food baskets, the first one was given to another one of the cooks from the church. Just as yesterday were very blessed to give back.

The second one was given to Pastor Francisco and his family. Francisco is friends with Pastor Palacios, and both churches often fraternize. Delivering this food basket was a beautiful experience for our group because we got to visit and learn about this new church and we also got to hear the story and vision of this family for their community.

The third one was given to a family that lives close to the Libres para Servir Church. It was very interesting because in the house there were two families, one of them about to leave to the airport, so we had the chance to pray for both families when blessing them with the food basket.

There are no coincidences, we think that God is using us this week and we are thankful for that. All the glory to God!

Serving and Connecting

Matthew 19:14

by Jorge Espinoza | June 12, 2024 12:48 AM

Today was our second day of VBS. Our group did just great, connecting with the kids, making them smile, laugh and most importantly, sharing to them about the love of Jesus.

We are blessed in many ways when working with these children, but we want to specifically mention the fact that we are able to follow Jesus’s words (Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.) We pray that every moment that we spend with them is used by God to get them closer and closer to His Love. Amen!

Restoration

by Jorge Espinoza | June 13, 2024 1:45 AM

Today our group from Denver Community Church had the opportunity to visit a christian men’s rehab center. We are so thankful with God because we had time to share The Word with them in a very simple but touching way, share a very compelling testimony by one of our students, listen to stories from the men on the rehab center that reminded us of God’s constant work to restore His People and bring them closer to them, and also to spend time praying together.

Everything that happened inside the rehab center felt guided by God because of how interconnected all those things we got to do with them worked together.

We pray that the message and stories that we shared to each other stay with us as reminders of God’s goodness.

The Hands and Feet of Jesus

by Jorge Espinoza | June 13, 2024 1:47 AM

Today our group from DCC had the opportunity to feed some members of the homeless community in Ensenada with close to a 120 tortas!

Following the way that Jesus shared His message in John 6:1-14 (The Feeding of the 5000) we first gave them spiritual food with a small but impactful message from the word of God, and then we gave them physical food.

We are very proud of our students group, but we want to specially shot out the girls today because they spent sometime praying for a couple of the people we were feeding.

This was an eye opening experience for most of our group, we pray that God uses what we learned and what we preached today, not only with words but with actions!

We are the hands and feet of Jesus, let’s keep doing what He calls us to do!

All the glory to God!

Laughing and Crying

by Jorge Espinoza | June 14, 2024 2:07 AM

Today was our group’s last full day in Ensenada so we had a very special last day of VBS.

The students from DCC shared with the kids about how easy it is to have time with God,  but then followed that lesson with spending time together playing in the local park.

It was a day full of joy, the children just wouldn’t let go of the students because they didn’t want them to leave. They shared hugs and tears with a lot of big and hopeful smiles to each other.

We thank God for the opportunity to share the beautiful love of Our Lord with the kids and we pray that this week was of impact, that the seeds that were planted grow and that the hope that was shared expands throughout this children’s family and communities.

Serving God through serving the community

by Jorge Espinoza | June 14, 2024 2:09 AM

Pastor Palacios has a vision, that vision is to  bring the gospel to the children of the community so they bring the gospel to their families.

One of the ways the pastor dreams about to fulfill this vision is to have a food pantry at church for the children in the community during the mornings, a way to give free breakfasts for kids going to school.

Our group from Denver Community Church wanted to help the pastor with his vision, so today we had the opportunity to serve the church with painting walls, getting a 120 blocks and cement for the construction of the food pantry and buying led lights for inside the church and materials for the church to have a better gate for it’s parking lot.

We pray that God uses Pastor Palacios’ vision and church as a healing place for the community.

We were so blessed serving this week.

Thank you Jesus.
