We Made It!!

by Amanda Buda | July 3, 2010 3:17 PM

The team has safely arrived in Belize!! We now begin our long journey down to Red Bank. Pray for God to bless the group with safe travels and incredible experiences!!

Life in Red Bank

by Amanda Buda | July 6, 2010 7:54 AM

We're all here in Red Bank Village having a great time!! The weather is humid and the bugs are plentiful but spirits are high and God is definitely working here. We began our first evening with some heavy rain and a delicious meal. Everyone went to bed early to prepare for the first full day of ministry. Sunday morning began with a church service led by the team. There was great worship and lessons taught by students and leaders both. After the service, the kids from the village were very ready to play with the team. The afternoon was spent doing "door to door" ministry with the team walking in groups around the village getting to know the locals. We met many interesting people and connected with most of the kids down here in Red Bank. Later in the afternoon we were all feeling a bit warm so the team threw on swimsuits and piled on the bus to take a dip in the river. The water was very refreshing to play in! Our evening came to a close with a delicious meal of chicken and homemade corn tortillas (yum!) and another wonderful church service.

Rain Won't Stop the Fun!

by Amanda Buda | July 6, 2010 8:08 AM

After VBS on Monday, the rain came down HARD. But that didn't stop the team from having a little fun recreation time! Some of the team found a nice muddy area outside of the church and slid through it, even the team's leader Doug!! What a great time enjoying God's creation and blessing of rain.

A Little Fun!

by Amanda Buda | July 7, 2010 12:00 PM

The team had an awesome morning today at Placencia Beach!! We left at the early hour of 7 o'clock and drove down to the coast where we then took the water taxi to the beach. It was a nice break from the heat and hard work everyone's been doing. Our afternoon will continue with more VBS and work projects later on in the day. Vacation Bible School has been a lot of fun for both the team and for the kids in Red Bank. God has really been working in the hearts of this team as we experience strength and wisdom all through the week in everything we do. Keep praying for our hearts to be broken and filled by the Holy Spirit more and more each day.

The Week Comes to a Close

by Amanda Buda | July 9, 2010 8:30 AM

The team is ready to depart from Belize after an amazing week of ministry!! Everyone has used both known and unknown talents this week in the village and there is no doubt that each member of the team has grown in Christ. Pray that as the team heads home, that their lives are permanently changed from this week of ministry in Red Bank. That hearts stay open and that God continues to shape their lives to do his work.

Please know how much I am praying for you all as you minister in Belize. I am so proud of the courage and committment you've each shown in preparing for and going on this trip. You are all such a great group of young men and women and I know the people of Belize won't be able to help liking you all and being affected by your ministry. I'll be praying that God will "show the wonder of His great love" through all of you.
