Living Hope Christian Fellowship

We have arrived after a 15 hour car ride! We started our first team meeting with some exercise before we went over PPM policy. After the meeting we went on a walk and explored the neighboring shops and park. We are excited to be here and start a week of ministry!

This morning we ate breakfast then walked over to a local bakery for some pastries and coffee before church!

We attended Aletheia church this morning, where we are blessed to lodge. Pastor Quentin shared a message about how the trials of life are to be considered joy. He took us through the book of James. Afterwards, we met many of the congregants and got to share about our reason for visiting (missions)! 

This afternoon we explored Providence and went to Roger Williams Park where we prayed over this week and the community we will be serving.

Today we are working with Providence Rescue Mission cleaning out some cluttered areas and throwing away expired goods.

It was a blessing to serve Providence Rescue Mission day 1! We got to hear the heart of the mission and the impact they have had on the community and individuals. They distribute food, provide shelter, give clothing, plus they have discipleship and recovery programs as well. Though it was a laborious day, we ended the day with a good grilled cheese dinner and root beer floats! 

This morning we worked on deep cleaning the room we cleared out yesterday.

Took the second part of the day to serve the local church where we are lodging for the week! They asked that we beautify the landscape around the building by pulling weeds and trimming bushes. We worked hard and it looks great! 

We’ve had a full day cleaning cleaning cleaning! The basement had a wild variety of items stored there and we organized multiple rooms while another group of us focused on painting. 

It was such a blessing to hear from the director and founder of Providence Rescue Mission. He shared in greater depth the impact of the nonprofit and the history behind Gospel Missions. God has done amazing things and will continue to do so through this incredible place. They are grateful we came to help clean and organize so that they could continue the ministry they do! 

We headed out early this morning! Yesterday, we had the chance to explore Boston - we ate at Faneuil Hall and did the Freedom Trail Tour. It was an informative, sunny, and fun day!
