New Hope Church

What an awesome way to begin our time in Grand Isle! We joined our partner church, The Community Church of Grand Isle, in worship this morning. We are excited for the upcoming week of service!

After church today, we headed out to the beach to enjoy the weather! 

After finishing at the garden, we headed over to a community members home to help organize and declutter the destruction left from the hurricane. 

This morning we started off with a walk on the beach. We are ready to get working! 

This afternoon we worked at our partner church, organizing and taking inventory. We sorted through lots of blankets, pillows, and sheets!

After our day of ministry, we visited the local snoball stand and ate dinner on the beach! It was a great way to end our day. 

We’ve appreciated all the ways everyone has stepped up and helped us have an amazing week. Whether it’s dishes, cooking, or organizing, everyone has been so willing to help! 

One of our projects on Wednesday was helping a community member move into their home! The homes here are on stilts, so lots of stairs were involved. 

We started off our Wednesday by taking inventory at the Community Church of Grand Isle. 

We ended our last day of work enjoying some chilli cheese fries and a bonfire with smores on the beach!
