FBC Salado Youth

FBC Salado has arrived in Oklahoma! This evening we were able to connect with Pastor Kujanga of Zion Community Church as well as other amazing church staff. We ended the night playing in the gym before resting up for our first full day in Tulsa tomorrow. 

Good morning from Tulsa!

This morning we enjoyed church service with Pastor Kujenga. Not only did we experience an amazing time of worship but we dove into the word and learned about how “YOU are WORTH IT!”. 

This afternoon we were able to go and learn about Tulsa's history at Vernon AME Church with Miss Renee. We were then able to walk over to Standpipe Hill and pray over Tulsa, the people, and the ministry we will be serving in. 

This morning Pastor Kujenga talked more about the ministry and took us to The Zone. While there we did a variety of things such as working with the kids, cleaning out storage areas, and assisting in their new Esports room.

This morning we were blessed to serve at Bridging Hope where they put together hundreds of bags every day to deliver to the people of Tulsa! The leaders say that every bag is a soul saved! As a team, we put together over 800 bags in 3 hours! They also let us bring back some bags for us tonight! 

While serving at Bridging Hunger we worked so hard we turned into Smurfs! 

Wow!! What an amazing night of VBS at Zion Community Church! We saw a lot of familiar faces as well as some new friends! A highlight was definitely making Noah’s Ark with Captain Anthony and Captain Rachael! 

This morning we got to connect and serve at Glory Refuge Church. We learned more about their ministry from Pastor James and his wife Rita and help move supplies. The building being emptied will be used to not only house people in Tulsa but also as a school to learn about the Bible and other life skills. 

Had to make sure we did our daily church clap! 

Another great night at vacation bible school! We had so much fun with the kiddos and again had new friends join us! 

Each morning we have started the day with intentional quiet time with God, talking about what we learned and share testimonies. One of our favorite times of the day! 

What a fun way to spend our recreation day! We went to the Gathering Place and enjoyed a plethora of activities including large scale jungle gyms, swinging, basketball, koi ponds, rolling down hills, and of course time together! 

As it was our final night of VBS it was bittersweet! Being able to see some of these kids pray together to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior was a true blessing! It was hard to say goodbye to the kids but we hope to see them again someday and pray they continue to come to Zion Community Church. 

This morning we said our goodbyes to Salado as they head back home to share all that they did here in Tulsa. We pray for safe travels and hope to see you all again one day.
