Young Adult/College Mission Trip - First Pres Fort Lauderdale

We arrived in Nicaragua safe and sound. We are very excited to be able to serve with Young Life -San Dionisio and share the love of Jesus with the people of this community.  

We were able to visit the maternity house in San Dionisio where we shared with 14 women who are waiting for their babies to be born about the love that God has for them.  We were able to share with them some testimonies and some personal hygiene items and we were also able to pray for them so that God would give them strength and protect them during their pregnancy process.

It was a great privilege to be able to meet the leaders of Young Life San Dionisio.  We are very encouraged by the work they are doing to introduce Jesus to more and more young people in the community.   We were able to pray for the leaders and for this ministry to grow and be a blessing to the people of San Dionisio and for the Gospel to continue to be preached.

Today is a wonderful morning!!! God gave us the opportunity to meet a beautiful and sweet lady. The group prayed for her health, healing and her spiritual life. God committed us to pray for the sick. 

Luke 9:2: And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

This morning, we went hiking to explore a little bit of the city of Matagalpa. We had the opportunity to meet a group of young people that are part of an athletic team. We had a race and it was so much fun. We loved meeting them and making connections!

Praying for the food baskets wich were delivered by the team in order to help the people's bodies but also was a beautiful reminder from God to them about His faithfulness and goodness.

We had the opportunity to get to know some of the families at San Dionisio community where we had the honor of sharing testimonies and also hearing theirs of how God has strengthened their faith and how they with God's help have kept following Him above any situation.

What a blessing to hear the different testimonies of the Young Life's leader, just to hear that God's work is brightly shining in their lives and how they have had a big change not only in their lives but in their families' lives too is the most motivational blessing we can have.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT?

[17] This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

It's truly a blessing to be able to share with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Today we went  to the Cerro Negro volcano to do some volcano boarding and certainly had too much fun. We are also very thankful to God for giving us such an enjoyable opportunity to go to Nicaragua and explore its beautiful cities.

Finally we went to Leon city where we were able to visit the souvenirs' fair and also to have a look at the architectural beauties of this colonial and gorgeous city. We're just overwhelmed with thankfulness because of what God has been doing for Nicaragua through these mission trips and for what He will continue doing. To God be the glory.

 God definitely spoke into our lives on this missionary trip.  We are very grateful for the friendly relationships we created, the beautiful people we met, and for the different partners with whom we were able to serve.  All glory and honor belongs to God, now we are ready to return home.  Goodbye Nicaragua!
